Social Justice Framework

Our approach to teaching and learning is inspired by the work of Maisha Winn, author of Justice on Both Sides: Transforming Education Through Restorative Justice (2018). Lessons and learning experiences integrate Winn’s pedagogical stances:

target shaped chart with 4 rings. The outer ring says history matter. The next ring says race matters. The third ring says justice matters. The center wring says language matters. Outside of the chart a bracket surrounds the chart and say Futures Matter (the why)

Students explore topics, develop content knowledge and present unique perspectives that impact their communities. They use the media arts (film, television, radio, podcasting or recording arts) to present their messages.
