Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community:
For the week of March 10th, students are starting their ACT testing and prep while our other students are preparing for the Wisconsin Forward Test. In business, students are exploring different career opportunities and examine how much money those chosen careers make. In science, students are learning about plate tectonics and what happens when they shift or collide.
Here are some highlights from this week:
- Academics: Students have begun their state tests. High school students (“The Grammys”) are taking the ACT and ACT-Aspire, while our middle school students (“the Oscars”) will take the Wisconsin Forward Test. Please be sure that students are getting a good night’s sleep as well as a healthy breakfast. This will help them do well on these tests.
- Our four-part creative writing continues. Students are creating two distinctly different animals to create a brand-new animal. Each new animal will be featured in students’ original short stories, leading up to an animated film. We hope you are as excited to see their final work as we are!
- Business: This week students explored different career opportunities and examined job descriptions along with learning about the career’s salary potential. Students then created a presentation about their career of interest.
- Science: This week students have been learning about plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, and boundaries.
