Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community:
Welcome to the Welcome to the UpGrade Media Arts School 2023 - 2024 year. We are so excited to get the year started with academics, media projects and so much more. Students have started their WVS courses, met with their teachers, and have completed the first round of assignments. Students have also taken their business etiquette course with Ms. Cosey. They learned how to provide a proper handshake with eye contact and confidence. Mr. Elzie worked with the students on teaching them the basics of podcast and broadcast production.

Business Etiquette (Ms. Cosey):
This week students are learning about positive affirmations to build self-confidence and self-love. Students are also learning how “ugly” words can affect themselves and others. The students finished out the week taking a quiz.
Business and Media Integration (Mr. Thompson):
This week students started learning the basics of media. They learned what the difference is between traditional media and new media. They are able to differentiate what type of media is traditional and new. Students have also started to learn about the difference between liabilities and assets along with the importance of credit.
Podcast Town Academy (Mr. Elzie):
This week students are learning the basics of podcasting. They are learning the different roles it takes to produce a podcast. Mr. Elzie is identifying a couple of students who want to start producing podcasts and the digital television show.
