Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community: 

For the week ending September 29, students are in week 4 of their WVS Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Civics courses. They are in the process of completing mid-module exams and module projects. In podcasting, students are in the process of learning how to independently produce their own shows. They have also started culinary arts with Chef Alicia and are learning the basics of food preparation. In business, students are learning how to develop their own personal brands and mission statements.

Podcast Town Academy (Mr. Elzie):   

This week students are recording a full podcast episode for the UMA podcast with Mr. Elzie. The students have established regular hosts and topics such as homecoming, spirit week, dos and don’ts for the first day of school and so much more. They are on the road to recording their shows independently. 


Business and Media Integration (Mr. Thompson):   

This week students are learning about vision statements and mission statements to complete their personal branding projects. Students are also learning the basics of marketing. At the end of the week, students are reviewincontent for a quiz on vision statements and mission statements 


Culinary Arts (Chef Alicia): 

This week students are learning the art of food preparation. Chef Alicia is teaching students the proper way to prepare a full-course meal. Students also learned how to make a turkey meatloaf and BBQ sauce.
