Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community:

Welcome to our Welcome to our two new community members, Tyrone and Roy Jones. For the week ending November 3rd, students are wrapping up the book Among The Hidden with a quiz on the last five chapters (Chapters 25-30). This month, we are starting a new book called A Child Called It. Students are continuing to meet with their teachers to complete their discussion-based assessments. In culinary arts, students are learning how to read recipes and accurately measure ingredients. In business/media, students review units in Web 3, metaverse, and influencer marketing for a quiz on Friday.

UMA Courses

Business and Media Integration (Mr. Thompson):

This week, students are learning about influencer marketing, Web 3 and the metaverse. Students are learning about how influencers have changed the way different businesses market to customers. Students are also learning about the differences between web 1, web 2, and web 3. At the end of the week, students will take a quiz on the three different units we discussed.

Culinary Arts (Chef Alicia):

This week, students are learning how to properly read a recipe and measure ingredients independently. Students showed off their baking skills by making a delicious cookie-brownie made with Oreos and chocolate chips. Stay tuned for the commercial students made of their cooking skills.
