UpGrade Media Arts Schools

Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community: 

For the week ending Dec. 22nd, 2023, students finished reading our Book of The Month, Monster.  The final assessment is an essay prompt featuring the students' examination of the case study presented in the book. In WVS, students are scheduling their discussion based assessments with their teachers. They are starting to complete their final exams. In business, students are learning about digital content creation.

Academics: 
Students are scheduling time with their WVS teachers to discuss the concepts that they have learned in unit 3 and 4 of their courses. In math, students have been learning about proportionality and ratios. In english language arts, students are learning about how to construct a story using the plot line diagram.

Business and Media Integration (Mr. Thompson):   
This week, students are learning about digital content creation and monetization. Students are learning about the role of a digital content creator and the skills required for the profession. Students will finish the lesson by developing a presentation analyzing their favorite digital content creator. 

CBS 58 (Radio, TV, Podcasting): 
This week, Dr. Kurth visited CBS-58 for an interview on their "Spotlight" segment.  The interview will begin airing over winter break and we are excited to share all the great aspects of UMA!

MATC Residency
We would like to extend warm gratitude to the MATC-West Allis Campus Team for sharing amazing goodies with the UMA staff and students as we begin our winter break.  Thank you for being amazing partners!
