Dear UpGrade Media Arts Community:

For the week ending March 22nd, 2024, students have completed part one of Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Our MATC Downtown Campus culinary arts students have cooked their first meal, making eggs and potatoes. In academics, WVS teachers are conducting instructional coaching sessions with students to assist them in any assignments that might be challenging. In business, students are learning about how startups use colors in their logos to convey messages about their brand.

In math, students are reviewing content from module six such as area of a circle, probability, and 3 dimensional models. In civics, students are learning about exchange rates and reviewing the concept of GDP for a country. In science, students are studying the different phases of matter and reviewing the properties of light. In ELA, students are reviewing the plot diagram and learning about different ways a novel can end during the resolution stage of the plot diagram.

Business and Media Integration (Mr. Thompson):
This week, students are learning about the psychology of colors in a brand logo. Students then were assigned a color and found different logos with those colors. They explained what message each logo conveyed based on the colors they used in a presentation.
